Hello! My name

Laura de Castro

Product Marketer | AI & Web3

I’ve spent over 10 years crafting product marketing strategies in tech companies, from startups searching for product-market fit to fast-growing companies.

This isn’t your typical CV (if that’s what you’re looking for, check out my Linkedin or download this PDF). Here, I want to share who I am, what drives me, and how I see my work.

About me

From advertising to tech (with a stop at psychology)

  • Born and raised in Madrid city. The only downside? No small town to escape to in the summer—so I had to master urban survival.
  • Advertising & Psychology (almost). I always wanted to study Psychology, but the classic “there are no job opportunities” led me to Advertising and Public Relations at Complutense University. Turns out, I found my path, though I still indulge my inner psychologist through books.
  • My non-negotiables. Sports are my anchor, my compass, and my therapy. Learning something new every day keeps me going, and if I had extra hours, I’d spend them traveling, reading, or exploring the unknown.

What Drives Me

Tech, people and purpose

  • From complex to simple. I love breaking down technical concepts into clear, digestible ideas (even for our moms).
  • Tech with purpose. I explore the intersection between innovation and people’s happiness.
  • Teams that make magic happen. I thrive in cross-functional environments where the best ideas come from connecting different perspectives.
  • Stories that build companies. The strongest businesses are born when people, values, and the narratives behind them align.

Mi Journey

Falling in Love with Startups

My first startup internship hooked me for life. Since then, I’ve worked at several Internet companies that shaped my career:

  • Learned to adapt and solve problems on the go.
  • Became passionate about using data to drive strategic decisions.
  • Discovered the power of putting the user at the center.
  • Made “test, fail, and iterate” my personal mantra.
  • Understood that a brand is more than a logo—it’s the story behind it.

Welcome to the Matrix: Web3

In 2019, I set my sights on fintech giants revolutionizing banking. I aimed high but didn’t pass the selection processes. Life is hard. But fate had other plans. I joined a seed-stage fintech where I discovered Web3 and crypto.
Marketing stopped being about “convincing” customers and became about building communities with shared values.
Leading teams and managing international GTM strategies taught me key lessons:

  • Leadership isn’t control—it’s about providing context and fostering autonomy.
  • Aligning global teams across cultures and languages requires clarity and empathy.
  • Listening more, speaking less, and leaving ego at the door is a recipe for success.

Present: AI, ethics & the future

Today, my biggest obsession is artificial intelligence. I’m fascinated by its ability to transform everyday life, but I’m also aware of the risks of unethical use. This duality fuels my drive to work on projects with real impact.
Currently, I lead go-to-market strategies for AI-driven consumer platforms at a venture capital firm. My goal is to find a balance between technology, humanity, and ethics.

I don’t promise answers, but I guarantee interesting questions

If you’ve made it this far without getting bored, we already have something in common. If you’d like to chat about technology, marketing, product, or how to build something that truly impacts people, I’d love to connect. I promise—it won’t be a dull conversation.
